The White Pampas Grass Plant (Cortaderia selloana) Large and bold with huge, feathery plumes. Pampas grass has been widely used since the Victorian era. Giant white plumes are held upright, high above gray-green foliage that remains evergreen in mild climates. Considered to be one of the most popular ornamental grasses. Leaf blades are extremely sharp, reaching 6-8’ in length. Plumes rise to 10-12’ tall on erect stems.
Bloom Time: Late summer through fall
Uses: Best grass for large landscapes. Plant in the background plant garden borders. Plumes may be cut and dried for use in indoor flower arrangements. Can be grown in large well draining containers.
Plant in full sun (at least 6 hours) to partial shade, in well drained soils.
